Sally May Sally May
Why you gotta act that way
Make us all miserable every day
Acting in that terrible way
I remember when you were a child
Always acted so vile
Never understood how you were dialed
Those years were quite a difficult trial
We beat you down daily tried never to hold back
Its surely not effort that we lacked
One beating even caused poor Pa a heart attack
Guess the odds against us were stacked
Ahhh it’s no use to look back
Born so different than the rest of us
Never understood the child you was
Ideas you spoke were just unheard of
Who you were was just too rough
On folks like us
Wonder what would have been
If we hadn’t beaten you for being thin
Hadn’t said you were full of sin
Tried to welcome your difference in
To late now to undo past mistakes
Gotta live with what we create
We spent our time developing hate
Now we gotta deal with this state
Sally May Sally May
Why you gotta act that way
Make us all miserable every day
Acting in that terrible way
