Johnny entered the radio station with a flare in his step. He
was excited about this scam intensely. As he walked through the hallway led by
one of the studio assistants he tried to hide his excitement and was sure he
was succeeding evidencing his preferred persona of a rock god. He wore his
special coat that he could change identities effortlessly in with a felt black
skirt underneath shuffling along in heavy heeled black shoes that made for a
more comfortable walk then heels.
When he got to the end of the hallway he realized that the woman’s
description of the layout of the office was perfect and he wondered when she
had been there.
When he met Brian, the Los Angeles midnight DJ for the metal
rock up and coming radio station KPOK, Johnny made a effort to shake his hand
as a woman would barely grasping his outstretched hand pushing his fingers
gently into the palm of Brian’s hand.
Studio assistants flew by busily working but noticing the interaction
nonetheless. As one of them passed they gently bumped into Johnny and it pushed
him against the near wall. Johnny threw himself into a provocative pose. He thought Brian was handsome and was
attracted to him and feeling horny. Brian released his hand and Johnny noticed
him brushing it against his pant leg as if trying to extricate a disease.
This angered Johnny but he remained calm. All he needed to
do is get him in that office alone and within a few minutes he would seal the
deal for his recording to be aired all over Los Angeles through the airwaves of
the KPOK radio station. Brian jabbered on and as Johnny barely heard the words
that were apologetic about not playing his recording. He decided to take a bold
move and began pretending he was crying pushing his head into his hands to
cover his lack of real tears. The studio personnel were more interested now and
Brain realizing this led him into the very office that the woman told him to
get him into alone. Johnny continued his dramatic scene as Brian closed the
door and walked behind the only desk in the room and sat down. He was talking
softly with scripted acuity and clear experience at letting musicians down. But as he hit the seat Johnny began trying
to entice him into having some afternoon sex with him. Brian stood up from his
chair and put his hand up but before he could say a word Johnny began telling
Brian his new reality.
As Johnny spoke with quiet certainty Brian sank back in his
chair slowly his face going grey in pallor but his expression stayed emotionless.
He did not say a word but after just a few minutes of Johnny’s pitch on how
Brian is going to play his recording and pay him money or he will ruin him with
a sexual scandal Brian got up and calmly walked behind Johnny opening the door.
He exited without saying a single word to Johnny and for a moment Johnny felt
like this might not go as smooth as the woman had convinced him of. Within minutes thereafter one burly
security guard accompanied by another fit and stealth security guard appeared behind
him surrounding him without touching him and asked Johnny to leave the studio.
Johnny left easily as he knew that this game was not yet played out but was on
its first act.
Johnny jumped on his bike and went back to Trisha’s house.
When he arrived Trisha was clearly excited and was quick to give Johnny the
news that she had landed a singing job in a very posh jazz club in Los Angeles and
that agents were expected to be in the audience. As she danced and hopped around the room Johnny passed by
her ignoring her glee. Johnny wanted to get that letter to Brian done quickly
so he could be on the radio airwaves quicker and Trisha’s success irritated
him. Pen to paper he scratched out his letter to Brian getting turned on by
each lie of sexual atrocity he placed on the page. Within minutes the letter was done and he headed back out on
his bicycle to put it in the mail. It was Tuesday so Brian would get that
letter before the week was through and when Johnny put that letter in the
mailbox he was convinced his destiny as a rock god was on its way.
After meandering along Hollywood Blvd. for a while he headed
to the woman’s house to let her know the news. When he arrived it was late and
he could only see one light on in the house from the kitchen. As his bicycle clicked to the back of
the house he did not see the van and all he could hear was a slight rustling
from the late night breeze passing through trees. As he walked up to the back
door he could hear each step and he became nervous that he would meet Rooskie
alone. He slowly entered the back door trying to stay quiet so he could have
the advantage of finding out who was home before they saw him first. If it was
Rooskie, he would run away.
Each step as he walked through the house created a new bead
of sweat on his brow. The woman’s room was dark and he peered in slowly to
confirm there was no one in the room.
The only room left was Rooskie’s and Johnny walked even slower trying to
keep each step as silent as possible. When he reached Rooskie’s room he tried
to listen as hard as he could for any sounds but he heard none. The door was just barely open and he
was not certain he could know whether he was in the room just by looking
through the small opening. But he made this his first approach putting his eye
to the small crack. He could not see anything but shadows bouncing off one of
the trunks in the room. Slowly he pushed on the door when suddenly he heard the
back door open and close and thunderous steps coming down the hallway. Johnny
panicked and ran into Rooskie’s room. He quickly looked around for a place to
hide testing each the trunks but every one was sealed. The small window was too small to even
fit Johnny through and he knew he was trapped. The thunderous steps had not come closer to where Johnny was
and he heard the refrigerator open up. He quickly stepped softly down the
hallway towards the woman’s room. If Rooskie caught him alone in the house he
knew it would be better if he caught him in the woman’s room. As he pushed the woman’s door open
enough to fit his body through the floor creaked beneath his step and he bolted
to the bed as he heard the thunderous steps headed towards him now. Just as he
hit the woman’s bed and felt the silkiness of the woman all around him Rooskie
burst into the room.
